Employment in rural areas has been one of the most important programs of governments in recent decades. A significant proportion of employees in each country are employed in rural areas. Therefore, one of the major development goals in most countries is to reduce unemployment and develop employment activities in these areas. In this regard, the present article tries to examine the role of government in rural employment in Iran. The method of collecting theoretical information based on documentary-library data and statistically required information was also collected through semi-structured interviews using a questionnaire. The statistical population corresponds to the rural households of Khoshab city. Based on stratified random sampling, 8 villages were selected, which through Cochran's formula, out of 2,467 households, 141 households were selected as the sample population of the research. Initially, the role of government in rural employment, the villages of Khoshab city in economic, social and environmental dimensions, according to the Likert five options, were classified into 13 indicators. In order to analyze the collected data according to the objectives, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used, for statistical operations and data processing, SPSS software was used and for preparing the map of the study area, GIS software was used. The results show that the research indicators have a significance level of less than 0.05, which indicates the positive opinion of the respondents about the role of the government in rural employment.
